Curtains raise on a stunner fundraiser in Littlehampton

HUNDREDS of people united to help make a festive fundraiser at a theatre in Littlehampton a terrific success this month.

The Windmill Entertainment Centre held its second variety show, which was packed with delightful performances from the likes of the Littlehampton Musical Comedy Society, Stage-Door Theatre Company, Littlehampton Players Operatic Society, dance companies Virtuoso, Denisdor and the Angmering School of Dance, along with singing from the Sussex West Guides and Inspirations Community Choir.

About 130 people came through the doors for the two shows, on December 14, raising about £1,600 for the centre.

Carrie Reynolds, community development manager for Inspire Leisure, said: “The show, in its second year running, is put on in order to raise vital funds for the theatre that keep it the fantastic facility it is for performance in the town.”

Last year’s cash went to improving lighting and sound at the site.

It’s hoped this year’s windfall will pay to improve the backstage area and create a further dressing room.
