Cycle Club's Colonel's Trial in memory of Adder

Riders came from across the south for the fourth running of the Bognor Cycle Club's Colonel's Trial, which was held in memory of Adrian '˜Adder' Brown from Midhurst.

The course, which winds its way through Verdley Woods, had riders of all ages tests their skill on the three lap, 12 section trial set by James Gammon and Kerry Hill.

Money raised from the day goes to Macmillan Cancer Care, as Adder died from the disease.

The course twisted its way along forest tracks, muddy tracks, stony tracks and a variety of deep ditches some flowing with water and all becoming increasingly slippery and difficult to negotiate through the standing and fallen trees, with scores ranging from an impressive 12 to 100.

In Canada a similar trial was held by the Club Adder belonged to when he lived there and which raised money for a children’s cancer charity in British Columbia.
