Motorline Volkswagen Horsham employee Daniel Buckland has successfully completed the gruelling 76 mile London to Brighton off-road bike challenge, raising an impressive £650 to support the British Heart Foundation.

On Saturday 24th September, Transaction Manager Daniel joined the other riders as they set off from the University of Roehampton on what is Europe’s biggest charity mountain bike event.

Sporting his Motorline Volkswagen branded cycling apparel, Daniel was one of more than 6000 riders taking part in this challenging and varied ride through the Surrey and Sussex countryside.

In a fitness regime over the last few years, Daniel has regularly clocked up over a 100 miles each week which made the first fifty miles relatively plain sailing. It was the last 25 miles that proved to be the most challenging.

“The last section up and over the South Downs was the biggest test. I’d run out of steam by this point so these big hills required a lot of mental strength to complete.

“Thankfully I did and it felt great to complete the ride in 6 hours 27 minutes,” said Daniel.

Daniel has been ‘blown away’ by the generosity of not just family, friends and colleagues but also the amazing support from Motorline customers who have helped him raise £650 for the British Heart Foundation, the event’s chosen charity.
