Cyclist dies close to his home

A cyclist died this week after being involved in a collision with another cycle in the Catsfield lane where he lives.

Martin Leonard, 52, of Skinners Lane, sustained serious head injuries when he fell from his bike in the narrow lane on Sunday evening.

Mr Leonards was cycling with three other men when the tragedy happened shortly before 8pm.

The other cyclist involved in the collision - a 43-year-old man - suffered a minor head injury.

Mr Leonard was airlifted to St George’s Hospital in London with head injuries, a fractured pelvis and spine and internal injuries, and sadly died on Tuesday afternoon (3 March).
