Cyclist hurt after crashing into tree

A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a cycling accident in the grounds of Ashburnham Place on Saturday (October 11).

The 23-year-old is believed to have hit a tree.

Paramedics were called to the scene just after 6.20pm.

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance was also called and landed in a nearby field.

The woman, who suffered head and neck injuries in the crash, was airlifted to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

No one else is believed to have been involved in the accident.
