Cyclist injured in Worthing crash

A CYCLIST was hurt in a collision with a car in Worthing yesterday.

The accident happened in Ladydell Road at 5.50pm.

The adult cyclist was taken to Worthing Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The 44-year-old male driver of the Ford Mondeo was not injured.

Police closed the road between Lyndhurst Road and Chesswood Road while investigations took place.

The road was re-opened at 8.15pm last night.

A Sussex Police spokesman said the cyclist was awake and talking when officers arrived.

Both the cyclist and the driver live in Worthing.

Witnesses are urged to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting reference 1248 of 19 December.
