Dance weekend for Bexhill High girls

THIRTY-FOUR girls from Bexhill High School have taken part in a special dance weekend.

They travelled to Windmill Hill, near Herstmonceux, for the PGL Dance 2009, which focused on delivering contemporary dance in fun and productive workshops.

The group included girls who had been dancing for many years and others who were complete novices.

They were joined by students from a school in St Albans, Hertfordshire, for the weekend, and to break the ice on Friday evening they improvised a piece from the musical Grease.

Saturday and Sunday were taken up with dance workshops led by Fit Pro dance leaders. On Saturday evening they enjoyed a Karaoke session and on Sunday before leaving they performed for the PGL leaders.

Katie Horscroft, from Year 10, said, "I thoroughly enjoyed this dance weekend. Although I have danced since I was little, I feel I learnt a lot. It was an amazing experience"
