Dancers in Bognor Regis are delighted with their donated minibus

Janet Cattermole read in the Observer last week about The Wonder Girls’ dismay over an arson attack which had destroyed their minibus.

She immediately offered another 17-seat vehicle, a 1998 LDF 400 Convoy, as a replacement.

Her kindness was quickly accepted by the dancers’ leader, Debbie Marsh. She said: “The girls are over the moon with the new minibus. It goes to show there are people in the community who care about young people.

“Having a replacement minibus so soon makes a big difference to us because the girls will be able to take part in events, like a sponsored walk around Arundel, which we were about to cancel.”

Janet, of The Royal Oak in Chichester Road, said: “We’ve had the minibus for a few years for our dancers but we were not able to afford the insurance.

“I would rather the minibus go to a good cause like The Wonder Girls than just be sitting in our car park.”

The Wonder Girls have also been boosted by a £150 donation by Paul Wells, of Unique Promotions, for a year’s road tax.
