A FIFTH SUSPECT has been arrested on suspicion of murdering stab victim Darren Croxton.
The 20-year-old from Hastings was arrested this morning (January 25) by police. He remains in custody for questioning.
Four other local people have been arrested on suspicion of the same offence: two 16-year-old boys, a 17, and 18-year-old.
The 18-year-old and one 16-year-old have been given police bail until February 22. The 17-year-old and other boy aged 16 remain in custody.
Eight other people were questioned in connection with the incident earlier this week - but later released by police.
They are aged 13, two aged 14, and other parties aged 15, 16, 20, 23 and 27.
The eight people are now seen as witnesses to the stabbing in woodland near Bramble Drive around 4.30pm on Sunday, January 22.
Mr Croxton died of around three stab wounds to the groin part of his body, post mortem results have confirmed.
He died of serious injuries related to his wounds at Royal Sussex County Hospital at 7.20am on Monday, January 23.
