Daughter pulls on her running shoes to help her father

A dedicated daughter is gearing up to run her first London marathon to raise money for the charity supporting her blind father.

Jenny Williams, 46, tried five times to get into the popular event, suceeding for this year's race on Sunday, April 25.

Her father, John Harland, of Hawkhurst Way, Cooden, relies on the East Sussex Association of Blind and Partially Sighted People (ESAB), and Jenny, of Wadhurst, has so far raised almost 1,300 for the charity.

She said: "My dad suffered a stroke in October 2004 and is now registered blind. It has been very hard on both him and my mum, June, who cares for him. He has received a lot of help and support from ESAB.

I am hoping to raise 1,500 to help them continue helping people like my dad."

This will also be the first time an ESAB fundraiser has run the 26.2 miles.
