David strikes liquid gold

A DREAM about buried treasure has won an Uckfield man fame and it looks set to find him fortune too.

A DREAM about buried treasure has won an Uckfield man fame and it looks set to find him fortune too.

David Pursglove, of Eastbourne Road, has featured on national radio and television as well as in national newspapers after a recurring dream he had about treasure being hidden in his garden came true.

Now he could be in the money after finding an underground cavern containing uniquely pure water, with the potential for rivalling major spring water producers.

David has been interviewed live on Meridian Television, as well as on Radio Five Live, Radio Two and BBC Southern Counties Radio, and is due to appear on Channel 4 on Monday, to talk about his find.

His story has also featured in the Daily Express and he has been approached by The Sun.

The amazing discovery started two years ago when interior designer David, 57, vividly dreamt of a withered old pear tree that was in his back garden and heard a voice telling him that treasure was under it.

David said he knew he was on to something when he had the dream. Lots of people have experiences they cannot explain, he said. I ve had psychic experiences since I was four. There have been some pretty dramatic things happen in my life.

I have had experiences like this all my life and they re right every time. I know when I get these special dreams it means something. But this time it was really something special.

David spent 6,500 and dug a hole 120 feet deep in the middle of his back garden purely on the strength of his dreams. After the first dream, he hired a metal detector to explore the area around the pear tree but found nothing. Instead of giving up he decided to chop down the dead tree and dig out the root in the hope that it would reveal treasure, but he just ended up standing in a pool of muddy water.

David was thinking of giving up when, three nights later, he had another dream. The voice asked me if I had found the treasure, he said. When I replied that I had only found water, the voice told me the water was the treasure.

That was when David decided to fork out the cash on drilling equipment and a geologist although the geologist was more than sceptical about the venture. He told me I was wasting my time, he said. He said there was no chance of finding anything because the whole area was just made out of Wadhurst clay.

After days of drilling, they hit a water table 115 feet down. I knew that wasn t what I was looking for, he said. Despite the geologist s reluctance, David insisted they carry on drilling this time through five feet of hard rock.

Suddenly, they broke through and found a cavern containing an underground river. The sound was unbelievable, said David. It was a roaring, thundering torrent. The geologist was jumping around like a three-year-old.

David had found the purest, most uncontaminated water ever discovered. Two independent water experts, including one in the Czech Republic, verified its untainted nature. The water s perfect, said David. It has the perfect balance of 16 minerals, including fluoride.

The river, thought to be millions of years old, comes from a deeper source but could not rise any further due to the layer of hard rock in the way. The water contains magnesium, calcium, phosphorous, iron, manganese, chloride, and potassium, as well as the unusually high level of fluoride. All of these offer protection against disease and help to maintain a healthy body.

David now has the potential for pumping out 22,000 litres of the water per week enough to fill 90,000 bottles. Boots the Chemist and Virgin have both expressed an interest in it as a health tonic.

I knew I had to do something about my dream, he said. I m glad I did, because I discovered the purest water ever extracted from the earth.
