Deadline nearing for Arun residents wishing to vote

THE annual canvass to check the Electoral Register is up-to-date is just about to start, Arun District Council announced this week.

From Tuesday (October 1), electoral registration forms will be dropping through all 72,795 letter boxes across the district and householders are being urged to respond as quickly as possible.

The forms ask residents to confirm who lives at the address, whether those living there would like to be excluded from the edited register by ticking an ‘opt-out’ box.

It also asks people to confirm the details of those aged 16 or 17 living at the household who will soon be eligible to vote.

If there is no change in the household’s details, it is easy to respond by using the telephone number, email address, or text number provided on the form, or by bringing it in to the Civic Centre in Littlehampton or Bognor Regis Town Hall.

Residents can also return the form by using the freepost envelope provided.

The new register will be published on February 17, 2014, instead of the usual December 1 date.
