The County Times is asking residents whether they would like to see a similar system rolled out across the district.

Kevin Brown, public engagement officer in Brighton and Hove, said: “The idea of a no cold calling zone is to empower residents to say ‘no’ to rogue traders and companies that may use hard selling or underhand sales tactics at the door.

“We advise that you only deal with traders who are recognised and you have booked an appointment with. Any resident who gets a knock at the door from an uninvited trader you should report this to Trading Standards via: Citizens Advice consumer service on 03454 040506.”
