Debt and housing advice in Littlehampton

The Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) will be hosting a special, drop-in session at the Guide Hall, in Duke Street, Littlehampton, on February 28.

Staff will be on hand to offer help and advice on a range of other issues, including family law, employment concerns, welfare and benefits.

Representatives of national housing charity Shelter, Arun District Council and the Carers Support Service will also be available during the event, which takes place from 10am-3pm.

Jacqui Thomas, a CAB trustee, said: “We know there must be many people who have a problem and don’t know where to turn.

“Maybe they wouldn’t even realise that our local CAB could help, so we urge people to pop along to our community advice day. Everybody is welcome.

“There’s no need to book an appointment and we can offer free and confidential advice.”

Councillor Dudley Wensley, Arun cabinet member for central services with responsibility for revenues and benefits, said: “Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice Bureau provides a vital service to our community.

“We know from our frontline staff that enquiries about housing and welfare benefits are on the increase because of the current economic situation.

“I really welcome this community advice day and hope people make the most of the opportunity to call in with their problems and issues.”

The CAB is a charity and relies on volunteers to help run its advice and information service.

The bureau is appealing for people from Littlehampton to volunteer.
