Delays after car and cyclist collide near Chichester roundabout

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a car and a cyclist this morning close to the Northgate Gyratory in Chichester.

An ambulance crew and an off-duty paramedic attended the scene of the accident on Avenue Approach after being called at 8.20am, Wednesday, January 20.

The cyclist was not believed to have suffered any serious injuries but was taken to St Richard’s Hospital for further checks, the South East Coast Ambulance Service said.

The collision caused heavy delays during morning rush hour throughout the city centre.

A Sussex Police spokesman added: “Emergency services were called to Avenue Approach in Chichester at around 8.25am on Wednesday, January 20, following a report of a collision between a car and a cyclist.”
