'˜Deliberate' car fire in Broad Oak

Firefighters believe a car fire in Broad Oak yesterday (Sunday, January 17) was deliberate.

The vehicle, which was completely destroyed, is believed to have been a Peugeot 206, though police officers are unable to fully identify it at this stage.

One East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service appliance from Broad Oak attended the incident on Udimore Road, near Brede High Woods, at around 8pm.

Crews used breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The cause is believed to be deliberate and the incident was left with Sussex Police.

Firefighters left he scene at around 8.45pm.
