Dementia awareness day at Rustington Library

RUSTINGTON residents can learn more about dementia and the services available to them at a special awareness day.

A wealth of information will be on offer on Monday, between 10.30am and 2pm, with representatives from the charity, Carers Support West Sussex, Coastal West Sussex Mind, Crossroads and Age UK, among others, at the event.

Sue Rennie, Alzheimer’s Society services manager for West Sussex North, said: “This event at Rustington Library promises to provide loads of information on what dementia is, how it affects people and the services that are available locally.

“With 3,343 people living with dementia in the Arun area, it is vital that more people are aware of the services and support available to them, including the Rustington Carers Support Group.”

West Sussex Library Service will also be showcasing its new reminiscence collection of books and packs on different themes,to help stimulate memories, CDs and replicas of items such as newspapers and leaflets.

A number of dementia awareness days been held at other libraries around West Sussex.
