Dementias sufferers may be denied crucial drug treatment

Thousands of newly diagnoses dementia sufferers across West Sussex could be denied drugs to slow down the illness in the early stages

A decision by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) on whether to stop providing the drugs on the NHS is due to be made in July.

Yesterday objectors from West Sussex joined those from around the country in London as part of ma national day of action to lobby parliament. Two protests were organised for the day as well as meetings with MPs and it was expected that around 300 people would attend.
