Their idea was to design a table to help integrate disabled students into a normal classroom situation, by helping them to sit with their friends and face the front of the class and the teacher.

ICT teacher Ms Lynch accompanied the students on their overnight trip to the finals held at the offices of the Design Council. Head teacher Mr Robinson praised the design saying that it was a cost effective way of meeting a real need.

The competition brought together a variety of skills including design innovation, business planning and presentation using ICT (information and communication technology).

Neville de Moreas, from the Sussex Chamber of Commerce, helped the group develop their proposals and final presentation using MS PowerPoint.
