Developer sets up Felpham office

A Felpham office has been opened by housebuilder Barratt Homes.

The company set up the community facility to enable face-to-face meetings to be held with residents.

The company and its subsidiary, David Wilson Homes, intends to build 750 homes north of the existing housing in the coming years. The eastern half of the Bognor Regis northern relief road is also included in the major scheme.

Project technical manager Alan Dyson explained the firm was committed to making it easy for anyone concerned about the massive development to raise their views.

"We decided to have a presence in the village because this is such a big scheme and building will go on for such a long time and have such an impact on people's lives," he stated. The office is sited at

1 Church House, 94 Felpham Road, and is open between 9am and noon on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Further appointments for anyone with a moan or desire for information about the development can be arranged by contacting Mr Dyson.

Some work on the development site is being carried out by Southern Electric to move fibre optic cables to make way for the housing.

Barratt expects to move onto the land in early March, but any further work will depend on Arun District Council approving its detailed plans. This is due to happen in February.
