Diamond Jubilee Garden set to sparkle

The High Sheriff will unveil a plaque at an opening ceremony at 6pm this evening.

The opening follows months of hard work from a band of dedicated volunteers on the site near the Battle Ambulance Station.

The garden includes two mosaics, which have been added to the path, showing the Queen’s head in 1952 and 2012.

Battle Town Band will provided the music for the opening ceremony.

Part of the evening will be dedicated to honouring some of Battle’s finest as the ceremony will include the presentation of the Diamond Jubilee Medal to members of the emergency services.

A reception will follow at The Almonry in Battle High Street.
