Did the '˜Garbo of the Skies' land at Easebourne?

MIDHURST Museum is planning an exhibition on lost flying fields and is appealing for help.

As well as the former landing grounds at Wispers and South Ambersham, it will include the lesser-known Easebourne flying field reportedly used between the wars.

Local historian Tania Pons said it had been mentioned in local history interviews and was reportedly used by the famous world record-breaking 
New Zealand aviatrix Jean Batten, ‘Garbo of the Skies’.

If anyone has any information about the airfield or knows more about Miss Batten’s flight, they should write to the Midhurst Museum, Knockhundred Row, Midhurst.
