Dim outlook for festive lights

ONLY five per cent of Seaford businesses have responded to a plea for donations to fund town Christmas illuminations.

More than 600 letters were sent, using Seaford Chamber of Commerce records, asking for cash to help reach the magic 13,000 target set by the town s Christmas Lights Partnership.

Chamber member Denis Sistrom said he was grateful for the traders and business people who had helped bring the festive illuminations a step closer. The people who have given have been very generous and a list will be made public to show who they are.

But it was a shame so many had not bothered to get in touch he added.

So many people have complained there are no lights, we are know within striking distance and it is disappointing when we do not get the response.

He urged people to make a donation by calling him on 01323 898989.
