Dinghy club celebrates regatta '“ but is still homeless

The East Preston Open Dinghy Club enjoyed '˜near perfect' sailing conditions for its annual regatta weekend '“ but organisers are still trying to find a new home for the club.

More than 30 boats with sailors from six-years-old to 70-years-old competed in the highlight of the club’s sailing calendar. The racing was concluded with a hog roast for sailors and their friends and family.

The winners of the regatta were Bob Rodgers in the Monohull division and Neil Harwood in the Catermaran division.

As previously reported, this is the last year for the Open Dinghy Club at its current location.

A spokesperson for the club said it was continuing to work with the parish council and village residents to find a new home. If you can support the Open Dinghy Club’s search, e-mail [email protected].
