Disc idea aims to end car park woe

RESIDENTS, traders and visitors have urged Horsham District Council to come up with a solution to the lack of long-term parking in Billingshurst village '“ and some proposals are now ready for consultation.

Car parking has been a touchy subject in the village since the introduction of charges in the previously well-used Jengers Mead car park and access road, which is now privately owned.

This, plus the lack of long-term parking, has contributed to difficulties experienced by shoppers, plus residents whose spaces outside their homes have been used by people working in Billingshurst.

New proposals have now been put together by Horsham council, working closely with Billingshurst Parish Council, Billingshurst Community Partnership, the local chamber of commerce and village traders.
