As an alternative to last year’s successful Art Trail, the group will be holding a one-day event at The Steyning Centre, Fletchers Croft, Steyning, 10am-4pm on saturday December6.

There is an opportunity to meet the Steyning artists and guests during what will be a festive week in the town, with late night shopping and the farmers market.

Visitors can find a wealth of festive gift ideas, with beautiful jewellery, paintings, photography, prints and glasswork available.

There will also be seasonal refreshments, the proceeds from which will go to Steyning Area First Responders (SAFeR) who are local volunteers providing an essential immediate service to support the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Responders are fully trained by SECAmb in the use of defibrillators. SAFeR receives no government funding, relying on donations, sponsorship and grant funding to purchase equipment and kit, and everyone involved in the running of the scheme gives their time voluntarily.

A spokesman for Steyning Arts said: “So if you would like a unique gift made by a local artist, fancy a browse or a chat over a mince pie, we look forward to seeing you.”
