Display celebrates Wick man’s life

ART-LOVERS in Littlehampton are in for a treat this month.

Well-known Wick artist John Culver is hosting a new exhibition at the Littlehampton Museum, in Church Street, to celebrate his 50th birthday.

The display will be looking back at all the work he has created during his many years as an artist.

The exhibition, which opened at the end of July in the community gallery, includes a collection of some of his most renowned work created during his career as an artist.

It features a mixture of portraiture, figure work and landscape paintings. He has also selected a few of his favourite pieces for this special exhibition.

John said he has been painting ever since he was a child and has lived in Littlehampton for many years.

After graduating from the fine art course at Northbrook College, he continued drawing and painting and has sold his work at a number of arts and crafts fairs in the south of England.

He enjoys painting a variety of subjects and using various techniques, all of which will be on show in the exhibition.

Alan Gammon, chairman of the Littlehampton Town Council’s community resources committee, said: “It’s fascinating to see how John’s paintings have developed over the years.”

The display will remain at the museum until Friday, September 7.
