Disruption continues following derailment

COMMUTERS face further disruption this morning as the railway line between Hastings and Robertsbridge remains closed following yesterday afternoon’s derailment.

A freight train came off the rails at Mountfield, just after 3pm on Wednesday.

All services on the stretch of line were immediately cancelled and a bus replacement service was put in place.

This morning train operator Southeastern has arranged a special service to run half hourly from Robertsbridge towards London and half hourly from London to Robertsbridge.

The timings to services operating from Robertsbridge into London and back from London to Robertsbridge will not reflect those shown on the normal timetable.

The disruption is expected to last well into the morning.
