Do you remember 25 EXC?

For the first five or so years it was owned by a pilot who had settled in Worthing after returning from a job in the Middle East.

The colour of the Alfa was probably light grey in those years.

Allegedly, the pilot’s wife sometimes drove the car, but more often it stood still on the driveway of their house on Cowper Road.

In 1966 a young man from Worthing bought the car.

He took care of it because the Alfa Romeo was in a sorry state and had it painted red.

Both owners drove the car with the licence plate ‘25 EXC’.

Does anyone remember this vehicle?

As the current owner, I’m interested in all your stories, pictures or suggestions of who might know more about it.

Any information that can shine more light on the history of this unusual car on Worthing’s roads will be much appreciated.
