Dog attacks in Rustington prompts police appeal

A MAN and woman have been mauled during two separate dog attacks in Rustington, Sussex Police has announced this afternoon (Thursday, August 28).

The first attack took place at 8.30am on Sunday, August 17, in Jubilee Avenue recreation ground where a woman was bitten on the lower leg by an Alsatian.

Then, on Saturday (August 23) a second victim – a male – was also bitten on the lower leg near the recreation ground, at about 6.45pm.

The force has revealed it is trying to trace the dog walker described as a white man in his 50s.

Both incidents involved the same man walking two Alsatian dogs on Flexi leads.

Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses to either of the incidents.
