A dog was rescued from the cliffs at Cuckmere Haven on Sunday (February 1).
The Newhaven Coastguard cliff rescue team were called to the cliff tops west of the Coastguard Cottages at Cuckmere Haven at 11.37am after a member of the public reported their Border Collie had run up the cliff from the beach and was stuck on a ledge.
A spokesman for Newhaven Coastguard said: “The team deployed a cliff man with the animal rescue bag and was able to safely recover the dog to the cliff top.
“This dog’s owners did the right thing and called the coastguard.
“Never attempt self rescue.
“We have the equipment and the training.”
