SPORTS enthusiasts across East Sussex are being urged to scour their homes for sports equipment and have it valued at Newhaven Lifeboat Fete on Saturday July 2.
It could even be entered for sale at Sotheby’s in London as retired auctioneer David Neech, from Bishopstone, will be at the fete to lend a hand.
David said: “We want people to bring in just any sporting goods they have tucked away - golf clubs and balls, tennis rackets, cricket bats, horse or motor racing souvenirs, just anything“
“They could be worth quite a lot of money. But, please, no shooting or fishing goods.”
The sporting auctioneers Graham Budd in association with Sotheby’s, has taken a stand at the fete.
The fete takes place on Huggets Green, on the West Quay, from 1pm to around 4pm.
It will feature 70 stallholders, bouncy castle, slide, beer tent, shellfish bar and burger bar. A huge raffle will feature great prizes such as champagne and a side of dressed salmon.
Visitors will also be able to get a close up view of the lifeboat.
