Members of the group ‘INSIGHT’ raised more than £568 for the 7th Littlehampton Air Scout Group, based in Southfields Road.

Over the course of the summer, members from the Rotaract Club had taken part in a range of fundraisers.

In August, a team of four competed in the Arundel Bathtub race in the River Arun, generating about £135 for the needy cause.

Then, earlier this month, the group took part in a sweaty two-hour Zumbathon, at St Catherine’s Church Hall, in Beach Road, which raised more than £200 in a single night.

Other fundraisers included the sale of a 2010 England rugby shirt at the club’s annual party and a coffee, cake tea and raffle day at St Peter and Paul’s Church hall, in Rustington, which both raised healthy sums of cash.

The money was handed over to the delighted Scouts during INSIGHT’s annual general meeting.

Rotaract president, Tom Silverson presented the cash to the Scout team, who were touched by the group’s generosity. It is hoped the money will go towards refurbishing the Air Scout Group’s headquarters.

INSIGHT is made up of 18 to 30-year-olds who are keen on fundraising for good causes both nationally and locally. To find out more, see here.
