She said: “Now I’m through the first stage, I’m excited that I can begin to learn from CHC’s maintenance team, understand how maintenance is managed in a major helicopter operation, and learn more about the oil and gas industry of which CHC is a part of.

“I’ve always dreamt of being a helicopter engineer, so to be a step closer to completing my course while working for such a prestigious helicopter operator is extremely satisfying.”

While in Aberdeen, the apprentices will be introduced to safety policies and operational procedures, including completing compulsory training on the company’s safety management system.

The group now begins 18 months of on-the-job training in Aberdeen, North Denes in England and Den Helder in the Netherlands, to attain various qualifications.
