Drink driving charge after altercation in Eastbourne

Two men have been charged with drink-driving following separate incidents on Saturday (August 1).

At around 8pm police received a call from a concerned member of the public about an altercation involving a person thought to be the driver of a Renault van in Penrith Way in Eastbourne.

Officers attended and arrested Mark Hornblow, 40, of Kensington Way, Polegate.

He was charged with drink-driving and bailed to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on September 2.

Earlier in the evening a man seen driving erratically on the A22 at Lower Dickers was reported to police by members of the public.

Adam Readman, 46, of Medway Drive, Royal Tunbridge Wells, was stopped by officers at around 6.40pm in his Citroen C1.

Readman was charged with drink driving and released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on August 19.
