Driver injured in Five Oaks crash

Police are appealing for information after a crash on the A29 at Five Oaks this morning.

Emergency services were called around 9.30am, after an incident in which a Peugeot left the road and came to rest in a hedge.

Fire crews used heavy cutting gear to rescue the driver, who was believed to have serious head injuries.

He was taken to St Richard’s Hospital by ambulance.

PC Danni Dawes said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened.

“In particular I would like to talk to the driver of a white van who may have witnessed what happened just before the collision.”
