He was spotted driving erratically and had mounted the kerb twice.

Alice Robinson, defending, told Lewes Magistrates Court on Wednesday that Jones was an assistant golf professional, based in Worthing. He would lose his job if banned because it was vital he travelled to tournaments around the country.

She said he had made a 'huge error of judgment' by driving and drinking.

Jones was also fined 50 and ordered to pay 70 costs.
