DRUSILLAS PARK SCOOPS AWARD

Drusillas Park in Alfriston has been successful in picking up the 'Company of the Year' accolade in the 2006 Quality Edge Training Awards for the travel and tourism sector.

Zoo owners, Laurence and Christine Smith, were presented with the prestigious award at a celebration lunch held at the Beauport Park Hotel in Hastings.

After the ceremony Mr Smith commented: "Training and development for our staff is a high priority and we have been delighted by the quality and range of courses offered by Quality Edge. It's all part of our positive management approach at Drusillas and links well to our Investor in People recognition."

The Quality Edge training, which was organised through Sussex Downs College is a Learning Skills Council and European Social Fund project designed to benefit everyone who works in the Tourism and Hospitality sectors. Drusillas staff have attended a wide range of courses from customer service and supervisory training to retail merchandising and marketing.

Located just off the A27 in Alfriston, Drusillas is open from 10.00am daily.
