Durrington Festival 2008 '“ programme of events

TWO weeks of fun begins on Saturday, June 7, as the Durrington Festival kicks off.

Saturday, June 7

Festival Launch '“ The official launch of the Durrington Festival 2008, is to be at The Lamb public house, Salvington Road, with an all day family fun day with a barbecue and bouncy castle for the children.

There will be live music in the evening with Sandy Beech and The Deckchairs playing.

An evening with David Hewson a journalist and bestselling author.

David has written several novels and travel books and is the author of the extremely popular Nic Costa crime novels including A Season For the Dead and the Seventh Sacrament.

David will be talking about his work and signing copies of his latest book The Garden of Evil, at Durrington Library, Salvington Road from 7.30pm.

Durrington Theatrical Society will be presenting the hilarious comedy No Sex Please We're British.

Set in the 1970s this production was a huge hit in the West End for many years as was the film version.

Durrington's own version is to be performed at 7.30pm at the Barn Theatre, Field Place.

Also performed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Conversational French '“ this event is limited to eight people so will be on a first come first serve basis.

There is no cost for this session but a donation to the administration costs of running the Durrington Festival will be most welcome.

Up to 90 stalls supporting charities and other local organisations.

Brighton & Hove Albion's youth in the community team will be staging a football competition.

Harris Brother's traditional fairground, bungee jumping, inflatables, trampolines together with full programme of arena events ongoing, there should be something for everyone.
