PUB QUIZ: The next King's Head quiz will take place on the evening of Thursday at 7.45pm. Proceeds will go to the Community Plot at the allotments.

BALLET CLASSES: The Milestones School of Ballet will be offering lessons at the Sports Pavilion in East Hoathly from Wednesday September 14, and then every Wednesday during term time. All children from the ages of 5 to 10 years are invited along, the first lesson being free. Lessons thereafter will be between £3 and £4.50 per class, depending on age. VILLAGE SHOW: The Village Show Society’s Autumn Show will take place tomorrow, Saturday, in the village hall. Doors will open to the public at 1pm to view the exhibits and see who has won each category. As well as flowers and vegetables there are also handicrafts, cookery, photographs and categories for children. Prizes will be awarded from 3.30pm, followed by a raffle and the chance to bid on some of the winning entries. For more information please call Frances on 01825 840653.

PRESERVATION SOCIETY: The next event held by the society will be Talking Machines by David Homewood in East Hoathly Village Hall, Friday September 9 at 7.30pm. This event will take a look at the invention of the phonograph, gramophone and record industry, with demonstrations on original wind up machines mostly over 100 years old playing recordings from the past.
