The Morrises were the first newly-weds to sign their names in the register, in front of a small audience of close friends.

David said: “We wanted to be somewhere nice to get married. We didn’t want to travel.

Chichester is so beautiful, it had to be Chichester and we were so lucky that they were opening up this new venue – as it turns out we were the first marriage here.”

Diana said: “The fact that it is very small and intimate made it special. We just wanted it to be quiet, with a couple of friends, so it was just ideal.

“They did it so beautifully – the ceremony was gorgeous. They made us feel very at home and relaxed.”

As well as being available for marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, the room is licensed for baby naming and renewal of vows ceremonies. It can cater for up to 12 guests.
