East Preston plans ' a flagrant waste of money'

CONTROVERSIAL plans to extend East Preston Village Hall have been branded a 'flagrant waste of council taxpayers' money'.

The application, which is due to be heard by Arun's Development Control Committee today, involves the construction of a new building on the north side of the Warren Room where a children's playground is currently located.

But the scheme, which is recommended for conditional approval, has sparked 125 letters of objection.

The extension would meet the needs of the village hall in Sea Road and parish council, says the council's report.
