THE East Sussex Bach Choir is celebrating 25 years of making music with an anniversary celebration concert,
The Glory of Bach, on January 28 at 7.30pm at St. John sub Castro Church in Lewes.
Spokeswoman Penny Acton said: “The choir has performed high-quality classical and baroque music in Sussex since 1986, usually in Lewes either in the Town Hall or St John sub Castro Church but also at St Anne’s and occasionally in Brighton. The choir was started by Roger Durston, but for the last 15 years John Hancorn has been our musical director.
“The. A programme of pieces by Bach including excerts from the St. John Passion, The Magnificat, The B minor mass and the motet Lobet Den Herrn. We are delighted to be joined by soloists who all live in the Lewes area including soprano Lucinda Houghton, mezzo soprano Pippa Longworth and baroque violinist Alison Bury.
