An Eastbourne charity which works with homeless and vulnerable people in the town has outlined how it will continue while adhering to latest government guidelines.

Matthew 25 Mission, based at Brodie Hall, Christ Church, says it will continue to support those in need with a ‘few strict and important changes for the safety of our community and volunteers’.

Charity manager Oscar Plumley said, “Everyone coming to the Matthew 25 Mission is required to follow the ‘social distancing’ rules set out by the government.

“We will be serving take-away food between 8am-2pm, seven days a week, for the next three weeks. We will continue to do this as long as we have access to food supplies.

“The Matthew 25 Mission will continue to do keywork support, but this will be mainly by phone. If guests need to charge their phone there will be a place for them to do so.

“We will continue to provide clothes and other items as needed by our guests. This will be done between 10am-noon and after 2pm.

“We want to thank everyone again for their continuing support in these difficult times.”
