Darren Weir who owns the Mowbray with his wife Laura, said, “We are very proud of this award and are very pleased still to be here in what is an exceptionally competitive market. Over the years we have invested heavily in the building to make it a comfortable and contemporary guest accommodation.

“Our latest investment saw a £10,000 room development – creating our new Superior Plus/Quad room which offers spectacular views of the Devonshire Tennis grounds as well a high indulgent comfort. It is also proving popular with families as it has a sofa bed for the little ones”.

The 12-bedroom guest house has been open in one form or another since 1946, which means it celebrates its 70th Anniversary this year.

Established in Paris in 1934, Les Routiers started as a guide for the best independent restaurants and places to stay for road users.
