Eastbourne man admits drink-driving on Boxing Day

John Tovey, of Brodrick Road, was arrested in Lottbridge Drove on December 26 and charged with driving with 62mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system – well over the 35mcg limit.
He pleaded guilty at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on January 13 and was disqualified from driving for 17 months. He was also ordered to pay a £600 fine, £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

Hide AdThis brings the total number of motorists convicted since the Operation Dragonfly campaign began on December 1 to 81.
Officers also arrested a further 21 motorists on suspicion of drink and drug-driving offences in the first three days of the New Year.
