“A friend of mine wanted to join so I thought I would go along to support her and maybe lose a few pounds along the way.

“It wasn’t until I started to lose weight and feel the difference that I realised how unfit I was.

“I hated walking because I always ended up out of breath, my clothes were tight, and I could never buy the clothes that I wanted because nothing would fit me - I had settled for things in life because I thought they were right for me but actually it wasn’t and my weight had been holding me back.”

At her workshop, Candice learnt new healthy eating habits while still enjoying her food.

Candice says the greatest benefit of losing weight is the wider impact it has had on her life.

She said, “As I started to lose more weight, I was starting to feel a little more confident and decided to join a Zumba class to introduce some more healthy habits.

“One class a week quickly turned into four.”

With her steady weight-loss success, Candice became hooked on her new-found confidence and becoming the best version of herself.

She said, “I loved the feeling I got from trying on smaller clothes. I no longer got hot and bothered in the shop changing room, and I realised that my old obsession with shoes and handbags only worked because they always fit.

“As I lost weight, I didn’t have to worry about what would fit and I could choose any clothes that I liked.”

Candice has now started instructing Zumba classes and helping at her

She added, “If I can do it, anyone can. Just do it.”
