Easter fair at King Offa

Toys, games, books, and plenty of chocolate were on offer during the Easter fair held at King Offa primary school.

Pupils and staff were joined by family and friends as they enjoyed an afternoon of fundraising fun while easing into the weekend.

Organiser of the event, Jane Jenner, who is chair of King Offa School Association, commented: "In years past the Easter fair has been absolutely packed so we have gone into both halls this year for the first time.

"We have a giant Easter cakes raffle, which is very popular with the children, and some of the pupils have designed their own games for the fair. We have a card game and a lollipop game, which gives them the chance to win something chocolatey, and we have a wonderful cake made by Mrs Rachel Tite, one of the mums who makes a beautiful cake for us every year.

"This is a fundraising event primarily for general funds but we have an outdoor pool that we support during the summer that needs a few repairs this year.

"The children love the Easter fair. We have had a mufti day which means they wear non-school uniform and bring something in for the fair - all of this has been bought in by the children, and we have not had to buy anything. We'd like to thank the parents, families, and grandparents for being so supportive and bringing things in for the fair and spending all their money."

The fair was also attended by Bexhill MP Greg Barker who took time to meet pupils and see what they were up to.

He said: "What a terrific start to the Easter holidays to see all the pupils, staff and parents pulling together on such a great fundraising extravaganza for King Offa School."
