The Macmillan Cancer Support ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ is the charity’s biggest fundraising event with people across the UK encouraged to put the kettle on and host a coffee morning to raise money for people living with cancer. Last year, the charity raised £25million and this year it hopes to raise even more.

“We are proud to support this fantastic initiative and to host a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support,” says Freedom Leisure Centre Manager Paul Norris. “With one in three people in the UK suffering from the disease, I’m sure many of us know someone who has suffered from cancer. We hope to see plenty of people pop by with their family and friends to support this event. It’s a great way to get together for a natter, whilst raising important funds for the charity.”

As well as providing tasty treats Phil Wynn, who is a Gym Instructor at Bexhill Leisure Centre, will be taking on his very own personal challenge on the day aiming to complete a 12 hour spin bike challenge. Customers will also be able to take part alongside Phil for a small donation fee of £1. The centre will also be organising a legs, bums and tums class at 10am and a step class at 6.15pm for everyone to get involved with, for a small donation fee of £1 minimum. Classes will have an optional fancy dress theme, everyone is encouraged to dress up as a nurse. A raffle will also be happening during the morning coffee session.
