SIXTY-sven per cent of Willingdon Community School students achieved 5+ A*-C including English and Maths, and 94 per cent 5+ A*-C.
Headteacher Ian Jungius said: ”For the third consecutive year, Willingdon students have achieved higher level results in the high 60%s, exceeding all targets.
“These are excellent results which, at all levels, show students have achieved considerable success, with 97 per cent of students passing five or more GCSEs.
“This means that students will progress onto their FE courses of choice and are well placed to be successful. I am delighted at their success and congratulate them and their teachers.”
The quality of the results at the very highest levels bears comparison with the highest achieving schools, nationally - 45 per cent of students achieved 3+ A*A grades, 69 per cent achieved at least one grade A*/A and 22 students achieved 10+.
Of particular note were Matt Ginno, Lucy Jacobs and Rebecca Preston with 13+ A*/A grades, Sam Baldwin with 14 and Becky Marshall who achieved the top score with 12 A* grades and 2 A grades, including an A in Additional Maths.
